Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be a super upgrade for aggressive Galaxy Z Flip 3 users

Samsung's clamshell Galaxy Z Flip foldables offer customers a user experience that's mostly on par with other Galaxy flagships.

However, the clamshell form factor forces Samsung to make some sacrifices.

One such sacrifice is battery capacity. The first two Galaxy Z Flips—the OG Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Z Flip 3—had paltry 3,300 mAh batteries that necessitated charging twice a day.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 was the first phone in the series to get mainstream attention, and there are many who are using it today. Their biggest complaint? Battery life.

A 3,300 mAh battery simply isn't enough for any smartphone in this day and age. It's especially low for phones with a flagship processor and high-end features like a 120Hz display.

Samsung brought a larger battery to the lineup with the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The Z Flip 4 sports a 3,700 mAh battery, and so does 2023's Galaxy Z Flip 5.

The larger capacity brought some battery life gains on those models, but the gains were not major enough to entice Galaxy Z Flip 3 owners.
